SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF AQUACULTURE IN THE FIELD OF PRODUCTIVE INVESTMENTS - AUTONOMOUS REGION OF MADEIRA
Promote the sustainable development of aquaculture, improving the economic and environmental performance of aquaculture companies, ensuring sustainability and food security.
Scope:
Promote the sustainable development of aquaculture, improving the economic and environmental performance of aquaculture companies, ensuring sustainability and food security.
Object:
All actions provided for in article 39 of Ordinance no. 559/2023, of July 25, are covered by this notice:
a) Innovation promoted by companies or in co-promotion with universities or research centers, as long as it is led by the company;
b) Creation of start-ups and spin-offs, whose purpose is to initiate aquaculture production;
c) Construction or modernization of aquaculture production units, maternity hospitals or related establishments, of handling, packaging and packaging units when integrated into aquaculture establishments, and installation of transposition areas for live bivalve molluscs;
d) Diversification of aquaculture production and cultivated species;
e) Modernization of aquaculture production units or related establishments;
f) Decarbonization, which involves the construction or modernization of vessels to support aquaculture activities that encourage the use of renewable energy, or the use of commercialization and transport vehicles with reduced carbon emissions;
g) Support for the promotion of animal health and welfare;
h) Requalification of natural or artificial tanks used for aquaculture;
i) Investments in closed recirculation systems;
j) Investments in certification and trademark or patent registration processes;
k) Organization of companies, particularly for management training.
Beneficiaries:
Companies, as provided for in paragraph 1 of article 41 of Ordinance no. 559/2023, of July 25, may benefit from the support provided for in this notice:
a) Companies whose activity falls into one of the subclasses of CAE 03210 “Aquaculture in salt and brackish waters” or 03220 “Aquaculture in fresh waters”;
b) Companies that carry out their activity through purification centers in related establishments - purification and/or shipping centers with CAE 46381 “Wholesale trade in fish, crustaceans and molluscs”.
In the case of innovation operations led by a company and carried out in co-promotion, entities that develop or participate in scientific research activities, identified in paragraph 2 of article 41 of Ordinance no. 559/2023, may also be beneficiaries. , from July 25th:
a) Higher education institutions, respective institutes and R&D units;
b) State or international laboratories with headquarters or permanent representation in Portugal;
c) Private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities;
d) Other public and private, non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities.
